Joe Granado’s story is one of hard work, faith, and the American dream.
His mother was born in Mexico, where her family waited more than a year on the south side of Nogales for sponsorship to enter the United States in 1957. At just ten years old, she began a new life right here in Chandler, Arizona. Joe’s father was born in 1944 in a small home in Gilbert, within walking distance of Liberty Market.

After meeting and marrying, Joe’s father proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, and Joe was born at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The family returned home to Chandler when he was just six months old.
A proud graduate of Chandler High School (Class of 1987), Joe went on to serve his country for seven years with the Arizona Air National Guard’s 161st Air Refueling Wing. Following his service, he built his career from the ground up—founding UNI-TECH, a successful mechanical construction company, in 1996. He could have started this business anywhere, but it was a must that he chose Chandler Arizona.

Joe earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from Benedictine University. In 2020, he joined Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction Management, where he teaches a 300-level course in mechanical construction—mentoring the next generation of builders and innovators.
After decades of leadership, Joe sold UNI-TECH in 2022 but continues to serve his community through education, business mentorship, and civic engagement. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Associated Minority Contractors of Arizona (AMCA), EAA Chapter 1445 in Chandler, Flying Samaritans, and American Legion Post 91.
Service runs deep in the Granado family. Joe’s uncle, also born in Mexico, became the first Mexican-born Colonel to retire from the United States Marine Corps. Three of Joe’s sons have followed that proud legacy by serving in the U.S. Air Force, with one currently serving as an active-duty Major and his youngest preparing to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy after graduating from Seton Catholic High School.
The Granado family’s leadership roots in Chandler run generations deep. In 1977, Joe’s father founded Granada Air, a successful residential HVAC company. His aunt and uncle owned LaPaglia Farms, a longtime leader in Chandler’s cotton farming industry.
Joe and his wife, Michelle, have a blended family of seven children—her three, his three, and one together. They affectionately call themselves “the Mexican version of the Brady Bunch.”
Joe’s life reflects the true American dream—rooted in faith, family, and hard work, and a deep love for Chandler, Arizona.
